What is the preferred method
of costs allocation?

The survey shows that the high number of
cases in which costs are allocated according
to the result (80%) is in line with respondents’
preferences: this approach is favoured by
85% of respondents. Respondents, however,
have a slight preference for ‘apportionment
of costs’ (45%) over ‘costs follow the event’
(40%), whereas in practice the latter method
is more common (50%) than the former
method (30%).
